Outsourced SOC
Outsource your SOC without losing control
An outsourced SOC hands the 24/7 monitoring, investigation and response burden to a specialist UK team while you keep command of the decisions that matter. Here is what transfers, what stays, and what it costs.
The honest split
What you hand over, and what you keep
The fear with outsourcing security is losing visibility and control. A well-structured outsourced SOC is designed so you lose neither.
What transfers to us
The 24/7 rota, alert triage, investigation, response actions, detection tuning, threat hunting and reporting. Everything that needs trained analysts on shift becomes our problem.
What stays with you
Ownership of risk, decisions about your business, and your IT operations. Outsourcing the SOC does not mean outsourcing accountability: it means giving the people accountable a capable operation to rely on.
Control without the burden
Agreed escalation paths, named contacts, response actions pre-authorised by you and a live view of what the SOC sees. You stay in command of what matters; we handle the 3am part.
An exit you can actually take
Detections, runbooks and reporting are documented as we go, so you are never locked in. If you later build in-house or switch provider, the operation transfers cleanly.
Everything the service delivers day to day is on what's included.
The build-vs-buy question
Why businesses outsource the SOC
A genuine 24/7 operation needs a rota of trained analysts, detection tooling and someone senior running both. The NCSC's guidance on building a SOC is candid about the scale of that undertaking. For most mid-sized businesses the maths only works one way: consume the capability as a service, and spend the difference on fixing the risks the SOC finds.

Outsourced SOC FAQs
Can a security operations centre be outsourced?
Yes. The monitoring, investigation and response work of a SOC can be delivered entirely by a provider's analysts, and for most mid-sized UK businesses that is the only realistic route to genuine 24/7 coverage. What cannot be outsourced is accountability for risk, which is why a good outsourced SOC keeps you in control of decisions while removing the operational burden.
What does an outsourced SOC cost?
Our outsourced SOC tiers run at REPLACE_WITH_PRICE_RANGE per month depending on endpoints, data sources and coverage, published in full on the pricing page. Building the equivalent in-house means salaries for a 24/7 analyst rota plus tooling and management, which is why outsourcing is usually several times cheaper.
Is an outsourced SOC the same as a managed SOC?
Yes, the two labels describe the same service from different angles: outsourced SOC emphasises what you are handing over, managed SOC emphasises what the provider runs. Either way, a provider's analysts deliver your 24/7 detection and response.
What about a co-managed SOC?
Co-managed means your team and ours share the operation, typically with your analysts covering business hours and ours covering nights, weekends and overflow. It suits businesses with some in-house capability that cannot stretch to 24/7. We support co-managed arrangements; the discovery call establishes the right split.
